On February 12, Saint Eulàlia’s Day, the Teatre Goya hosted the awarding ceremony of the second edition of the Barcelona Santa Eulàlia Novel Award, which went to the Barcelona author Sylvia Lagarda-Mata with her novel Veus de mort als Encants Vells.
The Premi Santa Eulàlia de Novel·la de Barcelona, promoted by Àfora Focus Edicions and the publishing house Comanegra, is endowed with 25,000 euros, and has become one of the leading literary prizes in the Catalan language. An award for unpublished work in Catalan, which promotes creation linked to the city of Barcelona by encouraging local narrative talent.
In Veus de mort als Encants Vells we will learn the story of the city’s first serial killer. The country’s first “media” crimes. And the great adventure of a memorable character, Auguste Dupin, the detective created by Edgar Allan Poe, who in this adventure arrives in Barcelona to discover who is known as “the murderous bookseller”.
