The Focus events division will once again be present, leading the technical production of the 42nd edition of LA SETMANA DEL LLIBRE EN CATALÀ, commissioned by EDITORS.CAT
The Week returns this year with significant new features and with the purpose of highlighting all genres of books in Catalan. For ten days, editors, booksellers and authors will coincide with a diverse and impatient reading public to discover all the news that will be presented at this unmissable event that marks the literary resumption of autumn in Catalonia.
This year, the 42nd edition of the great Catalan book festival will be held from September 20 to 29, 2024, coinciding for five days with the Mercè festivities. The Week thus joins the great festival of Barcelona, offering an extensive program for all audiences, who will enjoy numerous activities: book presentations, poetry recitals, concerts, debates, conversations with national and international authors, signings of books and literary routes.
Likewise, this year the Week changes location and instead of being held in the usual location of the last four years, the Moll de la Fusta, it will do so in an exceptional way on the Lluís Companys promenade, from the Arc de Triomf to the Ciutadella Park, 6,500 m² dedicated to books in Catalan in the middle of the city. The hours have also changed and the closing time will be at 9:00 p.m., half an hour later, except on Saturday the 21st, when it will close its doors at 10:30 p.m.
Precisely, this year’s poster for La Semana, the work of Barcelona-based illustrator Adrià Marquès, evokes the festive nature of this 42nd edition and makes visible the new location with the Arc de Triomf in the image. A poster that reminds us of the most playful part of La Semana and the complicity with the Mercè festivities.
