The new production by Sixto Paz, written by Carmen Marfà and Yago Alonso, creators of hits like Ovelles and La pell fina, and directed by Pau Carrió (Cost de vida, Elling), arrives at La Villarroel.
The play, which takes place on a stormy night filled with adrenaline and comedy where the ghosts of a family come to light, stars Anna Sahun, Pau Roca, Marc Rodríguez, and Nausicaa Bonnín.
In La presència, we meet Ernest and Sandra, who are at their father’s farmhouse to accompany him during his final hours. Miki, Sandra’s partner, is also there to support them. While the siblings, who don’t have much of a relationship, catch up, the doctor from the local clinic arrives to check on him. Just minutes later, Climent dies. What none of them expects is for the bell he used to call them to ring again. If their father is dead, who rang it?
A series of confessions and hidden truths begin to surface—among the siblings, within the couple, and even involving the doctor, who reveals a side of Climent’s past none of them knew about.
