Starting on September 17, La Cubana will premiere its new show L’amor venia amb taxi at the Teatre Romea; a production that promises, as always, to surprise the audience and become a true phenomenon that will shake the city and leave a lasting impression.
L’amor venia amb taxi is a sincere tribute to amateur theater in Catalonia, as it is only right to recognize its importance within the country’s cultural fabric, and is, as the company explains, a musical “made in Cubana,” made in the Catalan style.
The legendary group, led by Jordi Milán, which this year celebrates its 45th anniversary, is responsible for successes that are now part of the history of theater in our country, such as Cegada de amor, Campanades de boda, and Gente bien, which have captured the hearts of generations of spectators with their unmistakable style. With their new production, the audience will once again enjoy the crazy humor, unique aesthetics, and delirious situations that are characteristic of La Cubana’s most beloved works.
On February 6, coinciding with the opening of the exhibition La Cubana 45 anys jugant a fer teatre, tickets for the show went on sale.
The exhibition, which can now be seen at the Palau Robert, is a tribute to a company that has played a pivotal role in the theater of our country and has turned theater into a total experience, first from street theater and later on stage, breaking all barriers between the company and the audience.
