The new production of Germans de sang, the musical by Willy Russell, directed by Daniel Anglès with choreography by Ariadna Peya, has completed its casting process to select the cast.
Over the past few weeks, auditions were held on the stage of the Teatre Condal itself, involving 150 candidates who had advanced to the audition phase. These were preselected from over 700 applications received when the project was first announced.
Germans de sang tells the story of twin brothers separated at birth. They grow up in completely different worlds, unaware of the truth. Despite the efforts of their respective mothers to keep them apart, fate brings them together — they become friends and eventually fall in love with the same girl. The final tragedy becomes inevitable.
This legendary musical, one of only three to have surpassed 10,000 performances in London’s West End, has been a critical and audience success since its premiere in 1983. In Barcelona, it premiered at this very same theatre, produced by Focus, in 1994. Today, it continues to move audiences around the world.
